It's difficult to say exactly how long it will take before the chlorine level drops to a lower level due to many factors; the sun, heat, CYA level (stabilizer), etc... To be on the safe side, you might not want anyone in the pool for at least 24 - 36 hours. Afterwards you can re-test the chlorine and make adjustments after that. If you need to use the pool faster, there's a chemical called Thiosulphate that can be purchased at most pool supply stores. This is a pool chlorine neutralizer that will force the chlorine level down, but use it sparingly and only when you really need it.
