Can Super Floc Remove Pool Algae?
Will raising the pH level and adding Superfloc (that is supposed to coagulate waste to the bottom that can be vacuumed to waste) get rid of algae? Thanks for the question
As you know a floc, or pool flocculant, helps coagulate, or clump, particles together to make it easier to either filter or vacuum out of the pool.
If you have pool algae or solid green pool water, the best way to get rid the algae is to shock the pool. This is what kills the algae, not the floc.
Swimming Pool Algae
Green Pool Water
Any pool algaecide is used for preventative maintenance only, not to get rid of algae.
You can use a good floc for cloudy pool water or a green algae swimming pool.
Many people may think that adding a bottle of something will cure a pool problem, but unfortunately that's not always the case.
If your pool is green, or cloudy, or whatever, it will take time and effort to get it back to normal.
It's always best to stay on top of things, test your pool water twice per week, and take the preventative steps necessary in order to have a great pool all season long.
Hope this helps and have a great and safe swimming season.
