Dirty Rinse During Backwash
(Rick)
I replaced my sand this year.
My pool water is cloudy and I am working on reducing algae.
When I backwash the water does not produce too much dirt. However, my rinse is extremely dirty.
What is going wrong?
Rick
Thanks for the question Rick
And it's good that you're doing the RINSE cycle after you back wash.
New sand will take a while to settle down. It has alot of dirt and debris which is unavoidable.
It may be that more than normal debris in is the line after you back wash.
The new sand will settle in time.

Why Is Sand Going Back Into The Pool After Backwashing?
Sand Returning Back To Pool After Replacing With New Sand
Hopefully when you were changing out the sand the laterals or stand pipe weren't damaged. This can cause sand to go back into the pool.
If the pump is not being run often enough the dirt can settle in the plumbing.
When you're fighting an algae problem the filter will clog up with algae.
Be sure you're doing all you can to get rid of that.
