I'm trying to lower my alkalinity. Is there a certain time of day I should check it. I live in Florida and have an above ground 6000 gallon vinyl pool. Thanks for the question Jennifer After adding any chemicals or making adjustments to your pool, you should wait for 1 full turnover of the water. This is normally about 8 - 10 hours. Many pool owners make the mistake adding a chemical then testing an hour later. You always need to wait for a full turnover of the water.
