How long should I wait to go into the pool after applying alum?

If you're using it to clear up a green pool, you'll want to wait until the pool is clear. Otherwise, if you're simply using for maintenance, or another reason, 30 - 45 minutes is good. Thanks for the question.

I just bought a pool 12×30 ft Bestway pool.... I want to start cleaning the water cause it looks a little dirty... What do I need to buy to start?? Ive heard from other people to buy the 4 step products and to put everything together same time have the filter running all day and night and that it will be safe for swimming next day and that maybe I should just buy the cholorine tablets and place 2 into my filter..... I'm so confused please help....thank u

Thanks for the question Brenda. Having a pool is great and it's simple to take care of, but, there's much to cover. My entire site is about pool maintenance. With nearly 1500 pages covering everything from chemicals to filters.

It would be an enormous undertaking to go through everything you need to do to have the perfect pool. The chemicals, what to look for and what to avoid and why, when to add each chemical, how much, how often, how to test, filters, what to do and look for, troubleshooting, etc... Unfortunately there's really no way, in just a few sentences, to tell you how to properly take care of a pool. What you're dealing with is chemistry.
