Is There A Shampoo I Can Use In Our Pool That Won't Hurt My Husband's Perfectly Balanced Water?

by Kim

It's not for me. I sometimes take our four month old in the pool for a quick dip.

I thought of killing two birds with one stone. So, would baby shampoo hurt the ph or whatever?

Thanks for the question Kim

I'm not aware of any kind of shampoo that is specifically designed to not touch pool chemistry. Pretty much any kind of shampoo or conditioner would be safe.

What I recommend is to shower before getting into the pool and try to limit the amount of sunscreen and lotion that you use.

Sweat and lotions, when in excess, can cause a sand filter to clog up. This is called "channeling".

And be sure to use anti-chlorine soap, shampoo, and conditioner after you swim.

Buy Your Anti-Chlorine Soap and Shampoo

Normal grooming habits won't hurt swimming pool chemistry. Just be sure to get a hot soapy shower before swimming to get rid of any excess sweat and lotions and your husband's pool chemistry should be fine.

Hope this helps and have a great Summer.

Robert
