Muratic Acid & Salt Water Swimming Pool..Lower pH Level

by Teresa
(Mishawaka IN)

Can I use muriatic acid to lower the pH pool level in my saltwater pool? Will it harm my saltwater filter/pump?

Thanks for the question Teresa

Muriatic acid can be used in both salt water pools and regular chlorinated pools to safely lower the pH level.

You can apply them the same way and the acid will have the same affect on both the total alkalinity and the pH level, depending on the application used.

Unless the acid is poured directly into the skimmers, it will be a safe way to lower the pH level.

Have a great Summer
