Just Filled Up Pool. Now What?
by: Bonnie & Derek

I purchased a swimming pool. Intex from Wal Mart 24x52. What do I do? I just filled it up, now im clueless.

It does have a Krystal Clear filter/pump. The directions on the box says contact a pool dealer to find out what I need to do/use for pH balance and stuff.

Well, this is our very first pool and and we are totaly dumb to the facts of pool maintenance. Can you help or at least explain how/what I need to do after the 1st. intial fill up of the pool?

Thanks for the question Bonnie

I have answered several questions about pool start up on the Q&A page in the Start up/opening a pool category.

Swimming Pool Questions and Answers

Please look them over. If you have a specific question about pool maintenance, feel free to contact me.

Best of luck with your new pool.

Basics on Pool Chemistry
by: Lillian

We just got a 15 X 36 in. Intex metal framed pool. How long should I run the pump each day?

We are new to this pool stuff and don't know very much.

Can you give us the basics on how to keep the water clean and what levels?

Thank You

Thanks for the question Lillian

You'll want to run the pump 8 - 10 hours per day in the Summer and 4 - 6 hours in the Winter. Being in New York, you probably close the pool in the Fall, but that's for another time.

I'm going to give you a few posts to look over. Other pool owners had the same question as you.

There are many links within these posts. I'd encourage you to really study them, don't simply skim through them.

Having a pool isn't difficult, but they are many components to keeping the water well balanced.

Hope this helps and if you have other questions, please feel free to contact me again.
