Ph and TA Are Low

by Jenna
(Ga)

I have a 15000 gallon chlorine pool. It's vinyl also but the ph and the TA are low.

Which should I treat first and whats the best thing to use?

Thanks for the question Jenna

First, I'd like to have your complete chemical readings:

Chlorine, CYA (cyanuric acid/stabilizer), pH, Alkalinity, Calcium Hardness, and Metals (iron and copper).

It makes troubleshooting much easier and the process of clearing up your pool will go much faster.

You can get this done at your local pool store.

Without these numbers I'm just guessing at what the problem is.

A "low" reading is very subjective and means different things to different people.

Here are a couple of posts of what I mean by having the chemical readings:

I Can't Get All The Algae Out!

I Can't Get The Green Out Of My Pool

Chemical readings are the vital signs of the pool.

It's also important to know if you've used any acid, how much, and what you've done (if anything) to increase the pH and alkalinity.

Get back to me with the chemical numbers and I'm sure I can help.
