Shocked The Pool & Still Having Swimming Pool Algae
I shocked the swimming pool but it's not removing algae from my 15,000 gallon pool.
I read where bringing my pH levels down to correct levels will help in getting rid of algae.
Whats the answer
Terry
Thanks for your question Terry
I frequently get questions regarding swimming pool algae and green pool water. In this case I would need to know a little bit more information.
Did you shock correctly?
What level was the chlorine after you shocked?
Are you sure you reached the super-chlorination level of 10ppm - 12ppm?
Are you using a Reagent FAS-DPD K-2006 pool water testing kit?
How long did you wait after you shocked to make the conclusion the pool shock didn't work?
Are you filtering 24/7? What kind of swimming pool filter do you have and and has it been backwashed, recharged with the right amount of DE, or pool cartridge filters cleaned?
What was the pH level when you started the shock?
Unfortunately with the limited amount of information provided to me I can only give limited answers.
