Sweeper Connector On Pool Vacuum Hose Broke Off
How do you get it out? Thanks for the question This happened to one of my customer and here's the way I got it lose. This is similar to getting a light bulb out of a socket, but different in that you're dealing with rubber and/or plastic, not metal. This will take a bit of patience. First is to use a raw potato. Shove the potato into the hole and work it back and forth. Hopefully it has loosened up a bit. Next you can use one or two pairs of needle nose pliers. Try to grab both sides of the base and equally pull them. You may need someone to hold you because you're pulling yourself towards the pool. Try to put straight out. If you don't the other side of the vacuum base might get wedged further into place. Another pool guy in Arizona that I used to talk to said he actually had to drain the pool 1/3 and used WD40. He sprayed it into the hole to loosen up the vacuum hose base. Let's hope you don't have to do the same thing. Good luck and have a great swimming season. Robert |
