Swimming Pool Chlorine Damage The Highlights In My Hair?

by Sarah
(Seattle, WA)

I've recently started working out by swimming laps in the morning. I have highlights in my hair that I'm just crazy about. Very nice job and my hair looks beautiful.

Will I have to give up my highlights if I want to keep swimming, or can I swim with highlights in?

Thanks for your question Sarah

I'm not a hair dresser, but I can tell you that many women who come to the YMCA pool wear swim caps. Many of the older ladies in the Arthritis Foundation classes use swim caps and they swear by them.

Never a hair out of place and they always brag about how great their hair looks. I've never heard one complaint about anyone ruining their hair when they wear a properly fitted swim cap.

You might want to look into getting a swim cap that fits, or maybe the pool you attend will have them for sale.

Hope this helps

Robert
