There are many different kinds of salt for swimming pools. The one I use for the YMCA salt pool is Champion. You can see the picture above.
Basically you want to get the purest salt available. This is why I like using feed grade salt. It's 99.5% pure with virtually no additives.

If you have a feed store in your town, it might be wise to check into that.
Morton makes a great salt as well. The solar salt the question asks about is pure salt that is crystallized by the sun and wind from natural salt brine. It's also 99.5% pure.
Many agricultural salts fall into this category.
Whatever salt you choose, be sure that it's good enough for your pool and salt cell chlorinator.
When in doubt, you can call your chlorinating cell manufacturer and ask what they recommend.
Salt is inexpensive. We pay about $10 for a 50lb. bag and go through about 20 bags per month, but that's our commercial rate.
You might pay a bit more.
